What is IBS? Is there a treatment for IBS?
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) has become common as an ailment of the intestines. The cause is unknown. Therefore, there is no cure. Because the doctors haven't found a cause, it has been termed as discomfort caused by stress. Since we personally know two people who have IBS, we doubt this.
Some foods have been termed “triggers”. One of our friends will have great discomfort if she eats chocolate or drinks coffee. Her crampy abdominal pain and diarrhea are often accompanied with an attack of heartburn. Her doctor wanted to put her on antidepressants. He also wanted to prescribe a drug to control her colon muscle. She wasn't having any of this. She underwent a complete colon cleanse. Then she started detective work on what foods were taboo for her. She also started taking Prolipamy™. She is still very careful, but is able at last to conduct a normal life without the fear of embarrassing incidents. As a real estate agent, this is very critical!
Our other friend had constipation so bad he became depressed from the horrible pain and pressure of moving his bowels. He went through the whole diagnostic procedure. Including a colonoscopy. He completely cleaned his colon in preparation for the camera. When the test came back normal, he started introducing food slowly. The most important thing he learned was that he wasn't getting enough liquid! After intensive research, he learned about his dehydration. He introduced filtered water and green tea. He also found Prolipamy™. He knocks on wood every day, so far so good. He “goes” every morning like clockwork!
